I’ve long wanted to do a portrait of Pee Wee, he’s one of my favorite artists. His work on Playhouse, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, his Broadway show, and his whole dang thing are all some of my absolute favorite creations and inspirations ever. His world of the playful that mingles with the subversive has always felt like second home for me, where celebrating the the weird and the kitsch and the relentlessly creative goes hand-in-hand with having a good time and valuing others.

So I hope I did him a little justice.
