What’s a crankie?!? A crankie is, generally, a kind of old-time backlit scrolling panorama. A moving storytelling device that has its origins in the 19th century, but has a life of its own in the hands of modern puppeteers and artists.

We were honored to be asked to imagine our own take on the medium, and we’ve developed a classic Uncle Monsterface song into what I’m referring to as an 8-bit crankie! We’re still hard at work on it, but I’ll be sharing progress as we get closer.

We’re joined by a pile of super-talented artists and can’t wait to share this new work! More soon!
